The Young Family: Jacksonville Beach Trip 2010

This past week we have been at Jacksonville Beach with my mom and brother. We have not been on a vacation together in many, many years so it was so much fun for us to spend time as a family. We are so blessed to have such an amazing extended family that let us have their house for the week.

We started off the trip, not even an hour into the drive and had to pull off and purchase a portable DVD player and a bag that rests on the back of the seat so Jane would be quiet. We spent the rest of the week singing Blues Clues songs because we listened to it for 6 hours straight. "I'm a planet...." The weather couldn't have been more perfect. We had one day of rain, so we spent that day shopping of course! Otherwise, clear skies and a nice breeze. We found that Jane only liked the beach if it was optimal weather conditions. If it got a degree too hot, she wasn't happy. If the wind stopped blowing she would cry and if her feet got sandy.....forget it.

We spent our first beach day with some extended family. Our cousin Gray came out with her parents, grandmother Annie and Aunt Maureen. As you can see, it is a love/ hate relationship. Just a little cousin initiation....we have all been through it.

We all got along in the end. Jane is finally learning to forgive.

And, it's gotten worse. I feel like I should display the weeks fashion. (Meanwhile, I picked up the Target special black top and bottom and called it a day). And, I am missing one bathing suit. Can we say spoiled rotten?

There were also many firsts on this trip. Jane has decided she doesn't like baby food. Why, you may ask?

A couple nights later, I come outside to find this.....

Jane has picked up a fake laugh. It sounds like she is hacking. I wish we could have video taped this because how hard she was hacking/ laughing was hysterical. I hope this paints a bit of the picture of how much she liked it.
